For our next #ArtsTechLA event, we’re excited to introduce Venezuelan light artist Claudia Bueno and the first US Exhibition of her immersive video installation: #Fiberspace. After living and exhibiting in Switzerland, Malaysia and South America for the past few years, Claudia is now calling Los Angeles and the surrounding desert area her home.
#Fiberspace is a site specific video installation projected onto a labyrinth of resin dipped fibers that makes you feel like you’re traveling through your own neural pathways. An immersive experience of light, sound, and texture that evokes the external universe and the internal world of our collective psyches.
Claudia will be giving a talk about the process of creating her artwork, the sketches, the fabrication, and philosophy that inspired #Fiberspace. As well as how she collaborated with sound and video artists Adolfo Bueno of TKSH Films, and Leonardo Aldrey of Audioblend to create the final work. After the talk, we will be able to experience the installation in small groups.
Come join us for a friendly gathering of communities and conversation.
LushBunny is spinning a few sets after the art immersion so it should be super fun.
The event will take place on Thursday 4/10/14 7pm at the CultureBrain Academy inside Maker City LA. Maker City LA is located in downtown LA at 1933 S. Broadway, 11th floor, LA 90007.
There is metered parking on Broadway and two self pay lots.
We’re also 2 blocks from the Blue Line Grand Station at Washington and several bus stops so consider taking public transit :)
